BTS Jungkook, is back in the social media spotlight! On 15th July 2025, the Kpop artist thrilled fans by launching a brand-new personal Instagram account under the handle @mnijungkook. This marks his return to the platform after a two-year break. True to his spontaneous nature, Jungkook announced it in the most ‘Jungkook-esque’ way possible by suddenly going live from the new account.

Within moments of going live, thousands of ARMY members flocked to the stream, despite there being no prior promotion. The broadcast was chaotic, casual, and completely unannounced. Fellow BTS members RM and V even joined Jungkook on the live video, putting any doubts to rest about the account’s authenticity. The sole purpose of the surprise livestream was to confirm that @mnijungkook is official and very much active. As of now, the profile has no display picture or posts, but fans are certain they have found Jungkook’s true Instagram home.

ARMY quickly took to Twitter and fan forums to dissect the meaning, with some joking that Jungkook was offering a subtle reintroduction of himself to the world.

Even in its infancy, @mnijungkook has smashed records. Within hours of its creation, the account surpassed 1 million followers, racing towards 1.5 million at lightning speed. This surge demonstrates the enduring global influence of the BTS star, and it’s a clear reminder that no matter how long he stays away, fans will always welcome him back with open arms.

Why BTS Jungkook Left Instagram In 2023?

His return has many recalling why he departed in the first place. Back in February 2023, Jungkook’s original Instagram account, boasting over 52 million followers and 87 posts vanished overnight. Rumours swirled about a possible hack or a temporary deactivation, but the singer later clarified that he had chosen to delete it himself. He admitted he simply wasn’t using the app much and had even removed Instagram from his phone completely.
