BTS’ Suga Launches Autism Treatment Centre: BTS Suga, aka Min Yoongi, has donated about USD 3.64 million to Severance Hospital in Seoul soon after his release from mandatory military service. In the history of Yonsei Medical Centre and its attached children's hospital in Seoul, he created history by making the greatest single donation.

BTS Suga's donation will go toward building the Min Yoongi Treatment Centre, which will bear his official name in Seoul's Seodaemun neighbourhood. Reportedly scheduled to begin in September, the new institution will provide mental health services to youth with autism spectrum conditions. The well-loved singer and rapper is known for his advocacy of mental health and other significant causes.

What To Expect From Min Yoongi Treatment Centre?

The Min Yoongi Treatment Centre, which is expected to be finished by September 2025, will provide more services and develop into a centre for awareness and therapy. Through the universal language of music, the project also seeks to dispel current misconceptions about autism and advance inclusivity.

Min Yoongi Treatment Centre's primary focus will be on providing individualised therapy and cutting-edge support programs to people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The centre wants to provide behavioural, psychological, and speech therapies as well as evidence-based resources for promoting social independence.

BTS Suga's role extends beyond just providing funding. He worked directly with the program's youngsters as a weekend volunteer from March to June 2025. In addition to teaching children how to play instruments, he saw firsthand the profound influence music had on their social and emotional growth.

ARMYs expressed their love for BTS Suga in the comment section. They heaped praises on social media for his generous move. Many dropped hearts and heart-eye emojis while others expressed gratitude for autism treatment centres. One of the users wrote, "I work as a clerk in a hospital at the pediatric mental health department, and seeing one of my favourite artists doing something like this brings joy to my heart! I wish in my country this type of program existed because lots of children need it." Another user wrote, "Sincere thanks to #Yoongi for volunteering his time, learning what is needed to further the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder, & donating such a generous amount to establish a new treatment centre & program."

BTS Suga said, "Through the program preparations and volunteer work with Professor Chun Geun-ah over the past seven months, I have deeply felt that music can be a valuable channel for expressing emotions and communicating with the world. I am very grateful and happy that I was able to participate in the treatment process of children with autism spectrum disorder, and I will continue to support more children so that they can become members of our society," as per Korean entertainment site, Naver.
