BTS Suga, aka Min Yoongi or August D, has been discharged from the military service on June 21. The kpop star was the last member of his band BTS who got discharged. He penned his first letter on Weverse for his ARMYs announcing his return. His discharge was different from others as it happened silently without any ceremony or press conference, unlike his fellow bandmates like BTS RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, Jin and Jhope. He didn't exit from the base as he was not stationed at military headquarters but rather was a civil servant. The 32-year-old has now joined the group ahead of much much-awaited BTS reunion. As per reports, Suga is set to make his first public appearance post-military discharge as a civilian from the HYBE office via a live session today.
In his letter, Suga wrote, "Hello, everyone. Nice to meet you. It's SUGA. It's been about two years. How have you all been. It's been a long time since I was called off today. It's a day I've been waiting for and it's been a long time, so I had a lot of thoughts on how to say hello. First of all, I wanted to say thank you to the fans who have been waiting for us. I really missed you. I think I had two years to think about myself."
"In particular, I wanted to take a step away from what I had been doing for a long time. In the meantime, I have not been able to look back on myself because I have been running forward, but this time has been an opportunity to look back on myself. "Dear ARMY, thank you for your patience and thank you very much. And I'm sorry for making you disappointed and worried about what happened last year. Above all, it was so upsetting that it hurt the fans' hearts. I felt sorry for the members who must have felt heavy in their seats because of me. In the future, we will try our best to repay the love you have given us. I love you. Everyone, I'll keep you posted from time to time."

As per previous reports, Suga wrapped up his service on June 18 by using his remaining vacation days. However, his official discharge happened on June 21 after completing his 21 months of enlistment. He was enlisted in the ARMY on September 22, 2023, as a social worker. The Kpop star was not assigned to combat duty but rather given the charge to be a social service agent because of his some health-related issues. Yoongi had surgeries on his shoulder and ear. Which is why, Suga was considered as ‘unfit for regular combat duty’.
On the other hand, ARMYs were quite excited about his first appearance and the BTS reunion. A project has also been organised infront of the HYBE office to celebrate the great reunion. Social media has been flooded with Suga Is Back hashtags.
