BTS' Suga discharged from his mandatory military service on June 21, 2025. The rapper's military service was a bit longer than his fellow BTS members due to his duty as a public service worker. Because of his shoulder surgery which he had in 2020, Suga aka Min Yoongi was deemed unfit for regular combat duty.
Hours after his discharge, Suga penned a moving note to ARMYs. He wrote "Hello, everyone. Nice to meet you. It’s a SUGA. It’s been about two years. How have you all been? It’s been a long time since I was called off today... I really missed you. I think I had two years to think about myself… this time has been an opportunity to look back on myself."
"In particular, I also felt that I needed to temporarily distance myself and step back from the work I’d been doing for a long time. Before, I’d only been racing forward without looking back on myself, but this time gave me the opportunity to reflect on myself once again," he wrote.

All BTS members have completed their military service, but there's no immediate plan for a group reunion. Big Hit also asked fans not to visit discharge sites due to safety concerns.
