Shane Nigam’s upcoming Malayalam romantic drama Haal went through a major cut by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). As per report by ANI, the censor board suggested 15 changes in the movie, including a scene in which the characters can be seen eating beef biryani. Haal’s release is in crisis due to the delay of certification. As per the film’s PRO, the CBFC requested the makers to remove scenes such as references to Dhwaja Pranaman, Sangham kawal und among the few. However, the makers of the movie denied consumption of beef biryani. As per the PRO, it is just a mere assumption by CBFC regarding the scene.

As per reports, Haal is expected to receive an A certificate from censor board if it makes the changes suggested by CBFC. Now, the makers have moved to the Kerala High Court against the decision of the film body. According to the film’s PRO, the first preview of the film to the CBFC on September 10. Earlier, the makers of Haal postponed the release date to avoid clash with Shane Nigam’s other movie, Balti.

JVJ production, who is the official production banner of Haal, said in a statement, “Both big-budget films starring Shane were approaching release around the same time, leading to the need for joint discussions. Although Haal was initially planned for a September release, delays in the censoring process and the inability to carry out adequate promotional campaigns on the scheduled date, combined with the proximity of Balti's release, necessitated a new date. With both producers showing flexibility in the larger interest of their films, a fair and timely decision was reached.”

Apart from Shane Nigam, Haal also features Sakshi Vaidya, Johny Antony, Nishanth Sagar, Joy Mathew and Madhupal in key roles.

Talking about Shane Nigam’s latest release, Balti. The film was released in theatres on August 29. The movie featured Preethi Asrani, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Selvaraghavan, Alphonse Puthren and Poornima Indrajith in key roles. The movie has been directed by Unni Sivalingam. As per reports, the film earned over Rs 6 crore in just a week of release. The exact figure has not been unveiled.
