Chakda Xpress: Anushka Sharma is best celebrated for her strong performance in movies like Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, PK, Sultan and more. It’s been a long wait for fans of Anushka Sharma, who have been eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming movie Chakda Xpress. And it turns out, they’re not the only ones feeling the frustration. Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who plays an important role alongside Anushka in the film, in a recent interview shared how deeply special the movie is and how confused he is about its delayed release.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya in an interview with News 18 said, “You don’t know how badly I’m waiting for the film to release because it is a fantastic film.” He further shared, “I always tell people… I watched it at Prosit’s [director Prosit Roy] place. I told him, ‘It’s not releasing, but since you have it, at least show it to me.’ He said it wasn’t completely finished, not everything had been done, but I watched it and… it is such a beautiful film."

Furthermore, he went on to heap praise on Anushka Sharma, who portrays Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami in the sports drama. “It is the best performance of Anushka Sharma to date. I don’t know why they are not releasing it. It’s a really, really fantastic film." When asked if the film had been shelved or only delayed, Dibyendu admitted that he was just as unsure as everyone else. “I have no idea," he said. “If I had any information about the film, I would tell you first. I really don’t know because Clean Slate is on one side and Netflix is on the other. What’s going on between the two, I have no clue," he added.

Meanwhile, speaking from an emotional and practical perspective, the actor also pointed out how delays can affect everyone involved. “As an actor, I really want the film to see the light of day. A lot of hard work goes into making a film. From the day research begins to the final print, it’s a long and emotionally invested journey. So many people are involved. So many ambitions ride on one film. Many families run on the income generated through it – technicians, daily wage workers. It’s very sad." “I want the film to release immediately," he said firmly. “And I’m telling you – it’s a fantastic film. A brilliant film. And Anushka’s best performance till now."

Chakda Xpress Movie

Chakda Xpress was first announced in 2022 by Anushka Sharma as her comeback film after her last appearance in Zero (2018). In Zero movie she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. The film is produced by Clean Slate Filmz, which is run by Anushka’s brother Karnesh Ssharma. However, delays followed when reports surfaced last year that Clean Slate’s partnership with Netflix had ended. This reportedly affected the release timeline of Chakda Xpress. It was also speculated that the production house might buy back the rights from Netflix and explore other platforms for release. So far, neither Netflix nor Clean Slate Filmz has confirmed or denied these claims.
