The much-awaited romantic drama Cocktail 2 is gearing up for its theatrical release on June 19. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film has already created excitement among moviegoers due to its popular franchise connection, hit music, youthful storyline, and fresh star cast. Ahead of its release, the film has completed the certification process, with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granting it an A certificate. The movie’s official runtime has also been revealed.

CBFC Clears Cocktail 2 With Adult Rating, Gets A Certificate 

Cocktail 2 has received an A certificate from the CBFC as excitement for the movie grows. This indicates that the movie is exclusively meant for adult audiences.

Only a few days before the film's theatrical premiere, the certification was obtained. Although the producers have not disclosed any specifics, industry observers speculate that the rating may be related to the film's mature themes and material.

Cocktail 2 Runtime Revealed 

Along with the certification update, the length of the movie has also been disclosed. The duration of Cocktail 2 will be 150 minutes, or two hours and thirty minutes. The duration makes it somewhat longer than the 146-minute original Cocktail, which was released in 2012.

Cocktail 2 Is Kriti Sanon's First A Rated Film 

The certification marks an important milestone in Kriti Sanon’s film journey. Despite working in the industry for over a decade, this is the first A-rated film of her career.

For Rashmika Mandanna, it becomes her second Hindi film to receive an adult rating after Animal, which was released in 2023.

Shahid Kapoor Achieves A Unique Record

Cocktail 2 marks Shahid Kapoor's fifth A-certified film. His earlier adult-oriented albums include Kaminey, Udta Punjab, Kabir Singh, and O'Romeo. Interestingly, Shahid's most recent release, O'Romeo, marks the first time he has delivered two straight A-rated flicks.

About Cocktail Cast

While the original Cocktail starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, the sequel presents a new lead trio. However, filmmaker Homi Adajania and producer Maddock Films remain affiliated with the franchise, carrying on its legacy for a new generation of fans.
