Comedian Samay Raina has announced his global tour days after the infamous India’s Got Latent controversy. Samay took to his Instagram handle and dropped a post, announcing his tour. The standup comedian will be travelling to Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand for his scheduled shows.
Samay dropped a video with a voiceover, “People who buy tickets to listen to all this stuff, they buy tickets and they go to these shows and they sit and listen and they clap for this, whatever this is. I do not know if these are even jokes.” The video showcases highlights from Samay Raina's Unfiltered tour.
In the middle of the video, Raina gets a call from his parents who ask him about his whereabouts. Smay flips his phone’s camera to make them see a cheering crowd.
Shubham Chawla from his team gave Smaay a big shoutout for the upcoming tour. He wrote, “We pulled off one of the biggest tours in the US and Canada by an Indian comedian. The grit to be able to get on stage every day when your whole world is upside down. Major shoutout to my brother for creating a laughter riot during the whole tour.... We are so back.”
India's Got Latent Controversy
The controversy started after an FIR was filed against creators Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina for a specific episode of the show- India’s Got Latent. The FIR accused them of promoting obscenity and making sexually explicit remarks on the show. The creators were bashed after Allahbadia made comments on-air that were considered insensitive. The audience considered their remarks 'offensive' and 'inappropriate'.
