Srishti Dixit, a well-known social media personality, has established a strong online presence through her relatable and funny content on Instagram. In the past few years, the content creator has made her foray into the acting world, where her true passion lies. She made her debut with the Vicky Kaushal-starrer 2023 Bollywood movie The Great Indian Family, followed by the recently released web series Mistry. Since her debut, Srishti has been managing her content creation work online as well as following her passion for acting. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Jagran, she talked about her financial stance and revealed that she treats acting as her passion more than a primary source of income.

When asked what pays better- her content creation career or acting projects, Srishti Dixit clarified that she is “not doing that much acting work.” She claimed, “As far as I treat it, it is a passion for me. I feel blessed that my content can pay the bills, so I can try and follow this passion also on the side. It does not match the money I make from being on social media. I’m not doing that much work also.”

 

Talking about getting offers from Bollywood post her stint in The Great Indian Family, Dixit said, “No, I didn't get any Bollywood offers. I auditioned after that. I still audition. I get whatever work I get from auditioning. I do recognise that I have some privilege of recognition because I am a social media person. I am a social media creator. So I have some following, which is why I do get certain casting directors interested in me. But then, ultimately, I still have to audition for things.”

Srishti added, “I am doing the normal thing that other actors are doing, which is auditioning. Yes, I have more access that I will not deny and I completely acknowledge that I may have more access to most people, but that does not really translate to working all the time. You still have to audition. People like me have to audition and I'm very happy to audition. I would rather audition for things and then get picked to do things as opposed to just like your social media following ki basis pe le liya and vaha jake kuch kiya bhi nahi, toh apko aur gali padti hain. So I'm just happy to honestly audition and follow that channel. If you're the best person for that part, that's why we are picking you for that part.”

With her content creation job on social media, Srishti Dixit enjoys a massive following on Instagram of over 7 lakh followers. Apart from creating content, she gained humongous popularity with shows like Behensplaining, Bumble Dating These Nights and Behan Darr Gayi Na to her credit. She recently showed her acting skills in the JioHotstar series Mistry, featuring Ram Kapoor and Mona Singh in the lead roles.
