Instagram content creator Srishti Dixit has been making waves on the internet with her funny videos and relatable content. She is not just an online presence, but her passion also lies in acting, with web series like Ram Kapoor starrer Mistry and Staff Room- Teacheron Ka Adda to her credit. This year, a major wave of backlash hit the digital content creation industry after a ‘derogatory comment’ relating to ‘parents’ and ‘sex’ by Ranveer Allahbadia on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent turned into a massive controversy. In an exclusive interview with The Daily Jagran, Srishti Dixit reflected on the same and applauded Apoorva Mukhija for dealing with the whole situation bravely.

Srishti Dixit said, “I think the internet is a very tricky place to navigate. You can find a lot of love and a lot of hate in equal measure. You kind of have to navigate it if you are a public figure, especially if you are an outspoken public figure.” The content creator lauded Apoorva Mukhija, who was part of the panel on Ranveer Allahbadia’s episode of India’s Got Latent and received massive online backlash for her comments on the show. Srishti said, “As far as Apoorva is concerned, I think she dealt with it in the best way. I don't think any of us has the right to kind of do it in that way. I don’t know how she handled that. I think people went through it; people were put through punishment for it.”

She further said, “People take into account the fact that something inappropriate was done. I think they took accountability for it and now people are moving out from it. It will always be tricky to kind of say things that will appease everyone. But all you can do is be truthful and authentic and do not make an intention to hurt other people. I don’t think there was any kind of intention there either. It's time to kind of move on to better things.”

When asked if there should be censorship in the digital space, Srishti Dixit said, “I don’t really think that would solve a lot of problems. I think there needs to be some conscious awakening within people who have platforms to be a little responsible and understand the impact and influence.”
