Special Ops 2: Neeraj Pandey returned with the second season, delving right into the human complexity and geopolitical chaos following the popularity of Special Ops and its spin-off, Special Ops 1.5 – The Himmat Singh Story. With its classic espionage story featuring secret missions, double crosses, and agents rushing across continents, Special Ops 2 kept things realistic.

Vikkas Manaktala made his OTT debut as agent Abhay Singh in Special Ops 2. His intense action sequences left many in awe. The actor, who made his television debut in the hit series Left Right Left in 2006, talked exclusively to The Daily Jagran about being offered a part in the first season.  Vikkas also talked candidly about living his dream of working with filmmaker Neeraj Panday.

Vikkas Manaktala, who called himself director's actor, said, "Neeraj sir has a very peculiar way. He just knows what he wants. It's the vision of the right and director first, which translates and then have everybody else joining to the team. So for me, it is very, very important that the director I'm working with and to understand his vision and his, what does he really want."

Special Ops 2 actor highlighted that he waited 14 years to work with Neeraj Panday. "I'm so happy that, you know, I could work with him. It's a dream come true for me. I've waited 14 years. When Wednesday was released, I went bonkers because I just was blown away by what I saw. It was, according to me, path breaking film. It kind of redefined how easy narrative and storytelling can be so powerful. And the way he is and the screenplay that he had, I still remember."

However, did you know Vikkas Manaktala was also offered Special Ops (2020)? The actor who transitioned from TV to OTT told us that he was offered a role when Special Ops was getting made. "I think about four or five years back when Special Ops One was getting made, I was offered that and I could not do it because I was because of a prior commitment to another job that I was doing. I had just signed a day before or probably the same day that I was starting the series," he shared.

He continued, "But I believe that Bholenath had something better in mind. And I also personally believe that, you know, like every story has its own journey, and so does every character. I was meant to portray Abhay, and the calling for Abhay came up, and he, I think, chose me to portray."
