Coolie's plot, Rajinikanth's part, and the actors have all been kept under wraps by the producers. In fact, Rajinikanth teased fans for a few seconds during the movie's opening song. Although there hasn't been much information released about the movie yet, new information has surfaced on websites like Letterboxd and Fandango.

Coolie tells the tale of a mafia organisation headed by Rajinikanth, also known as Deva, a former gold smuggler who used to inspire dread in the public, as per Letterboxd. He hopes to restore the former glories by bringing his old crew back together and seizing control.

However, Fandango asserts that Coolie has an emotional perspective. According to reports, Rajinikanth's character Deva is trying to correct the situation. "Delves into a man's relentless quest for vengeance since youth, driven by righting past wrongs, shaping his very existence," says the synopsis on the US website.
