D54: National Award-winning actor Dhanush, known for his strong performances and wide range across different genres, is back with a brand-new movie. The talented star, who has made his mark in both Tamil and Hindi cinema, has officially started shooting his next project. The film, which is currently going by the title D54, began filming today and is already creating a buzz in the industry.
Soon after announcing the start of the shoot, the team released the first look poster of the film. Dhanush shared the poster on his official X account (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive. #D54 starring @dhanushkraja - On floors from today. Produced by @dr.isharik.ganesh @VelsFilmIntl. A film by @vignesh_raja A @gvprakash Musical”. The poster shows Dhanush standing alone in a cotton field that’s caught in flames. He is dressed in plain clothes, with his head bowed, and the intense setting gives off a serious and emotional vibe. The image hints at a dark, action-packed story where his character might be pushed to the edge.

D54 Cast And Crew Details
D54 is produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International. The movie is directed by Vignesh Raja, who is known for the gripping thriller Por Thozhil. Meanwhile, GV Prakash Kumar, the popular music composer, is working on the soundtrack. He has earlier worked with Dhanush on several hit movies, and fans are excited to see this successful team back together again.
Speaking about the project, producer Dr Ishari K Ganesh reportedly said, “It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with exceptional talent like Dhanush, Vignesh Raja and GV Prakash. At Vels Film International, we strive to bring meaningful and entertaining cinema to audiences, and this film is truly special. The makers have described D54 as a “high-octane action entertainer.” The poster’s tagline, “Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive,” adds to the mystery and raises curiosity around Dhanush’s role.
Dhanush’s Work Front
Dhanush was last seen in Telugu movie Kuberaa. The movie is a social thriller that explored the lives of a beggar and a CBI officer who get caught in a strange and intense situation involving a wealthy businessman’s money. The Telugu movie also featured Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Nagarjuna among others.
With D54, Dhanush is once again set to bring something fresh and powerful to the big screen. Fans are now eagerly waiting for more updates on the film, including its official title and release date.
