Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary are one of the most beloved couples of the television industry. They have impressed fans with their sizzling chemistry in shows like Nach Baliye, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Ramayan. Now, the duo is ready to grace television screens with their upcoming show Pati Patni Aur Panga. The actress recently shed light on making her comeback after so many years as she embraced her motherhood. She also discussed the misconception people have about her and Gurmeet Choudhary and how she wished to change that with Pati Patni Aur Panga.
Debina Bonnerjee discussed her nervousness about making a comeback and told Hindustan Times, "I didn't plan on leaving my work, but yes, I'll be doing acting and be on mainstream television after a very long time, and that is actually giving me goosebumps and coming back after a long time. Also in the time of social media, where you can directly ask your community how they're liking and how they're loving, I'm feeling like it's a full circle.”

Debina further talked about choosing Pati Patni Aur Panga as her comeback show and revealed that it's a very lighthearted show, and it would be fun to unfold their funny sides on screen. The actress also shared that there are a lot of funny things between a couple, which can not be included in a vlog just by telling, so this show will be a good chance to recreate their real-life fun.
"So I felt there couldn’t have been a better show than this, where you just go and enjoy yourself. We've already done Khatron Ke Khiladi, we’ve done Jhalak too, and there isn’t really any other interesting show left that we haven’t tried. And Bigg Boss isn’t for us — it’s just not our cup of tea. So we thought this would be an amazing opportunity to explore the relationship space and to connect with our audience in a beautiful way," she added.
The Ramayan actress mentioned that there was no hesitation in making a comeback after such a long time. She shared her point of view on coming back stronger as a woman after embracing motherhood and said, “I feel that coming back after becoming a mother is something special — it’s a powerful message for others to see and celebrate. Motherhood doesn’t have to dim your passion or stop you from pursuing your goals. I want people to see that I’m managing everything joyfully, and that returning to work after having a child can give other women hope — that motherhood doesn’t mean it’s the end of everything."

Addressing the misconception about her and Gurmeet Choudhary, Debina pointed out that people believe that he is calmer and quieter between the two of them, and she is the one who controls everything. She said, "People often think that Gurmeet is the quiet one and I’m the one who does everything, always pointing fingers and taking charge. But actually, it’s the other way around. I’m the calm and patient one, and Gurmeet makes a lot of decisions himself while keeping me in the background. So I hope that side of us comes across."
The actress also revealed the real reason for choosing a reality show rather than a daily soap to make a comeback on TV. She said that daily soaps demand certain things like a 12-hour shift, make-up time and travel time, which makes it a bit difficult to manage as a new mother. “It’s like an unlimited commitment, not just for a day or two. So that’s something that isn’t working for me at the moment. And of course, reality shows are a lot more fun, with less commitment, and they’re a great way to connect with the audience,” she mentioned.
