Deepika Padukone's demand for shorter work hours has been grabbing eyeballs again. Recently, it was reported that she was ousted from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit for the same reason. As per the latest reports, the actress is likely to be removed or her role is to be reduced by the makers of Kalki 2. An Instagram page named Bollywood.mobi, Padukone’s demand for shorter work hours after embracing motherhood has been causing ‘friction on sets’. The Kalki 2 makers are considering reducing or removing her role. However, an official confirmation about the same is awaited.

Earlier few reports claimed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga removed Deepika Padukone from his dream project Spirit, headlined by Prabhas, because of her increasing demands. As per reports, she was asking for eight-hour workdays, a hefty salary and a share in the film’s profit. These demands didn’t go well for the filmmaker, which led to her exit. Deepika was replaced by Tripti Dimri in Prabhas' starrer Spirit. Padukone is reportedly trying to strike a balance between her personal and professional life post her daughter Dua’s birth.

Talking about Kalki 2, the shooting of the movie is reportedly getting delayed due to the hectic schedule of Prabhas. The star is currently busy shooting for other projects, including The Raja Saab and Fauji. As per a report by 123telugu, there are no available dates to resume work for at least the next few months. The unexpected delay has left the production team of the film in a difficult position.

The first part of the movie, Kalki 2898 AD hit the screens on June 27, 2024. The film had a stellar cast of actors, including Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Dulquer Salmaan, Amitabh Bachchan, Shobana, Mrunal Thakur, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian and Anna Ben in pivotal roles. It was directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Priyanka Dutt, Aswani Dutt and Swapna Dutt. The film was made on a budget of Rs 600 crores. Kalki 2898 AD had a box office collection of Rs 646.31 crore in India and Rs 1042.25 crore worldwide.
