Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 1: Kamal Haasan and Trisha Krishnan starrer Tamil gangster action drama movie hit the screens on June 5. The film received positive reviews from the audience. Thug Life, being one of the most anticipated films, has fulfilled the expectations of movie watchers. Kamal Haasan’s film opened at the box office with a strong note, giving hope that the movie will perform well in the upcoming days as well. The weekend collection might see a growth in numbers, especially because of Eid al-Adha holidays.

As per Sacnilk, Thug Life earned Rs 17 crore on the opening day. It had an overall 52.06 per cent Tamil occupancy on Thursday. The film had 50.66 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, 50.35 per cent in the afternoon shows, 45.15 per cent in the evening shows and 62.07 per cent in the night shows.

According to the reports, the film has been made on a budget of Rs 250 to 270 crore.

About Thug Life
The plot revolves around a gangster named Sakthivel, who adopts a boy named Amaran after saving him from a gang war. After several years had passed, the gangster survived an assassination and suspects Amaran’s involvement. This led to a huge conflict of loyalty and revenge. Thug Life stars Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan TR, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Abhirami Gopikumar and Ali Fazal in key roles. It has been directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, Udhayanidhi Stalin, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth.
