Devara 2: Fans of Jr NTR have reason to celebrate. On the first anniversary of Devara, the makers have officially announced its sequel, Devara 2. The announcement has set social media buzzing, with fans thrilled to know that the much-awaited continuation is finally confirmed. The team behind the film marked the occasion with a special post on social media on 27th September 2025. Released on 27th September 2024, Devara: Part 1 was a massive success at the box office and received strong reviews for its gripping story, powerful visuals, and Jr NTR’s commanding performance. The film, directed by Koratala Siva, featured Jr NTR in dual roles – as Devara, a feared village chieftain, and his son Varadha.

Devara 2 makers took to X to share the post with the caption, “It’s been one year since HAVOC struck the shores, trembling every coast and the name the world remembers is #DEVARA. Be it the FEAR it unleashed or the LOVE it earned, the streets will never forget. Now gear up for #Devara2.” This announcement not only confirmed the sequel but also hinted at an even bigger, more intense storyline. The news was accompanied by a new poster, which further fuelled excitement.

Recap Of Devara: Part 1

The story revolved around smuggling activities carried out at sea. Devara, once part of the trade, turns against it after discovering that the goods being moved are dangerous weapons. He vows to stop anyone involved in the illegal trade, even if it means going against his own people. Betrayed by his community, he disappears, leaving behind a warning that instils fear for years to come. Meanwhile, his son Varadha grows up resenting his father for abandoning him and the family. The film ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving the audience eager for answers and making a sequel almost inevitable.

Devara: Part 1 Cast

Devara: Part 1 also marked the Telugu debuts of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The ensemble cast included Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, and Shruti Marathe, among others. Their performances, combined with Koratala Siva’s direction and Anirudh Ravichander’s music, added to the film’s success.While the makers have not revealed plot details, Jr NTR will reprise both his roles, promising even more action and high-voltage drama in the sequel.

Jr NTR’s Work Front

Beyond Devara 2, Jr NTR has an exciting line-up of projects. He was recently seen in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan, part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. He is also working on Dragon (also called NTRNeel), directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. Reports suggest that Rukmini Vasanth and Tovino Thomas are part of the cast, although details remain under wraps.
