When Prem Chopra Was Concerned About Dharmendra's Famous Face

It happened during the shooting of their 1974 movie Pocket Maar. While filming the climax scene, Dharmendra's character needed to be tied to a moving vehicle and drag along with it. At the time, film stars used to opt for a body double to shoot such sequences, but as Dharmendra was considered the 'He-Man' of the industry, he used to perform his stunts by himself.

When the Sholay actor was getting ready to perform the stunt, Prem Chopra, who played the villain in the film and shared a warm off-screen friendship with the hero, became visibly concerned. He worried that a single scratch on Dharmendra's famous face could be disastrous. "Don't do this scene," he reportedly told him. "Your face could get ruined. Get this stunt scene done by a body double," Chopra further added.

Dharmendra laughed off, "Why worry? It's fine, I'll do it easily." "I know why you're telling me not to do this. You want my scene to look weak so yours looks strong, right?" the actor joked. Prem Chopra was left speechless by the witty remark and joined in the laughter. Their camaraderie is still cherished by their fans nationwide.
