Dharmendra Funeral: Bollywood’s He-Man, Dharmendra, passed away at 89 on Monday, November 24. The legendary actor had been battling age-related illness and was hospitalised in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month for treatment. Later, he was taken back to his residence, where he spent his final days under medical care and the support of family members. Dharmendra was directly taken for his last rites at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai, where members of the film fraternity and family gathered to pay their final respects.
The legendary actor of Indian Cinema had been unwell for some time. On November 10, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital following a deterioration in his health and age-related ailments. Two days later, on November 12, Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital and placed under observation at his home. However, his health further deteriorated, and he breathed his last on November 24, at the age of 89, leaving a void across the entire nation.
Dharmendra Funeral Updates
Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol performed the last rites of their father, giving him an emotional farewell. Dharmendra's wife, politician Hema Malini appeared before the media with folded hands, while his daughter Esha Deol hid her face when spotted at the venue. After performing the last rites of the veteran actor, priest Acharya Bhupendra Shastri shared details, revealing that all the family members were present. During a media interaction, the priest said, “All the rituals have been performed. We pray for the salvation of the soul of the great actor. All the members of the family were present there. No one can fill his space. He was a gem for the country. He served as a legacy for society. He has millions of fans across the world.”

Bollywood Celebrities At Dharmendra's Last Rites
Besides the Deol family, Bollywood stars came together to pay their final goodbye to the veteran actor. Dharmendra's Sholay co-star Amitabh Bachchan, along with his son Abhishek Bachchan, were seen arriving soon after the actor's demise broke. Later, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, Aryan Khan and several other industry members attended the funeral to bid farewell to the iconic star. Many others paid tribute by cherishing the work and recognising his contribution to Indian cinema, which spans over six decades.

Earlier today, the makers of Dharmendra's upcoming and final film Ikkis unveiled the first look poster of the actor's character. The war drama is scheduled to release in the late actor's birth month, on December 25.
Dharmendra has left behind a legacy full of iconic performances and a memorable filmography that will continue to inspire and be admired by generations to come.
