Dhurandhar is one of the highly-anticipated movies of the year. Starring Ranveer Singh in lead role, the movie is based on the true events of India's mission against terrorism in the neighbouring country, Pakistan. The espionage thriller hits cinemas on December 5. Recently, there were rumours that Dhurandhar is inspired by the high-stakes missions of brave army officer Major Mohit Sharma. Now, director Aditya Dhar has dismissed all the rumours, stating that Dhurandhar is not based on the martyred soldier.
Major Mohit Sharma's brother Madhur Sharma asked Dhar if Dhurandhar was based on the real-life story. To this, he replied, "Hi, sir - our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family and in a way that truly honours his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us."
