Deepika Padukone was ousted from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit because of her request for 8 hour shift. Though she was not part of the movie anymore but her ‘8 hour shift demand’ has sparked debate in the Bollywood industry. Some supported it and called it normal, whereas others did not agree with the ideology. This time, Farah Khan has taken a subtle dig at the matter in her recent vlog.
In her recent vlog, Farah Khan visited Radhikka Madan when she recalled her time from first show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. She said, “The moment the camera was switched on, I felt very safe. I never felt that safe in my life. I wanted to be a professional dancer. The way I used to feel on the stage, you can’t see anyone else, I felt the same in front of the camera. I thought of course mujhe nahi lenge, but within three days I got a call for a look test and within 2 days, I was shooting for my first show.”
Then Farah asked, “You didn’t have an 8-hour shift, I am guessing?” To which, Radhikka replied, “56 hours non-stop or 48 hours non-stop.” Then Farah hinted that she does not support the 8 hour shift strategy. She added, “Aise tapke hi toh sona banta hai (this is how gold is made).”
After Deepika Padukone was ousted from the upcoming Prabhas starrer Spirit. There were several reports claimed that the Bollywood diva demanded eight-hour workdays, a high salary, and a share in the film’s profits. The demands did not sit well with the star filmmaker. After becoming a mother, Deepika is striking balance between her work commitments and personal life.
Several celebrities, including Vikrant Massey, Rashmika Mandanna and Anurag Basu, have come in support of the decision.
