In a surprising and dramatic turn of events, screenshots of an alleged chat between filmmaker-singer Palaash Muchhal and a woman named Mary D’Costa went viral shortly after the announcement that his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana had been postponed. The screenshots, first shared on Instagram and later circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), have sparked a huge discussion online.
In the leaked messages, Palaash Muchhal reportedly spoke about his ‘long-distance relationship’ with Smriti Mandhana and mentioned going on ‘tours’ with her. The chat also included comments that appeared flirtatious, with Palaash complimenting on Mary’s looks. He allegedly asked her to join him for a swim, a spa session, and even a visit to Mumbai’s Versova Beach at around 5 am. When Mary asked him directly whether he truly loved Smriti, he seemed to avoid giving a clear answer. These screenshots quickly gained attention across social media platforms. Many social media users criticised Palaash, accusing him of being unfaithful. Furthermore, Mary D’Costa also added another story clarifying that she did not meet Palaash even after his constant messages.

Meanwhile, another report surfaced alleging that Palaash Muchhal had an affair with a dance choreographer, who was training both him and Smriti for their wedding dance. This alleged infidelity sparked a major argument between Palash and Smriti’s father, reportedly causing the latter to suffer a heart attack and require hospitalisation.

Palaash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were scheduled to get married on November 23, in Sangli, surrounded by close friends and family members. However, on November 24, Palaash’s sister and singer Palak Muchhal revealed through her Instagram story that the ceremony would not be taking place as planned. This followed reports that Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, had been taken to hospital after suddenly falling unwell on the morning of the wedding. Later, some reports also mentioned that Palaash himself had been hospitalised, although he was eventually discharged.

Cricketer Smriti Mandhana and musician Palaash Muchhal, who began dating in 2019, publicly confirmed their relationship in 2024 to celebrate their fifth anniversary. On the other hand, Smriti has deleted her proposal video and other wedding-related posts from her social media accounts, adding to the speculation. For now, the couple’s wedding remains postponed. Neither Smriti nor Palaash have publicly addressed the claims made by Mary D’Costa.
