Indian star cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal’s wedding was postponed after the former’s father was hospitalised on November 23. The couple then delayed the wedding ceremony until her father is fully recovered. Now, reacting to the wedding getting postponed, Palash’s sister and singer Palak Muchhal broke her silence on the matter. She confirmed that the wedding day has been postponed. She further requested that fans and the media respect their privacy on this matter.
On November 24, Palak Muchhal wrote on Instagram, “Due to Smriti's father's health, Smriti and Palash's wedding has been put on hold. We would request you all to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.”

On the wedding day, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli after he suffered heart attack-like symptoms. A day later, Palash Muchhal was also hospitalised. Palash’s mother told Hindustan Times that the musician is very close to Smriti’s father and when he fell ill, Palash decided they should not go ahead with the wedding rituals until he gets better. She added, “He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress.” She also revealed that Palash has recovered and is back at his home. She also mentioned that the couple is under stress.
On the other hand, Smriti archived all the wedding-related photos and videos on Instagram, shifting the celebration-like situation to concern.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal started dating in 2019. They kept their relationship under wraps until 2024, when they shared a post marking their 5th love anniversary. Recently, Palash shared a clip of him proposing to the cricketer at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. He captioned the heartwarming video, “She said yes”. The musician surprised the cricketer when he proposed to her at the stadium.
