According to Sacnilk, The India Story opened to an estimated ₹16 lakh on Day 1. The film earned ₹25 lakh on Day 2 and ₹32 lakh on Day 3. Collections dropped to around ₹9 lakh on Days 4 and 5. The film made ₹7 lakh on Day 6, followed by just ₹1 lakh on Day 7.
With the exception of Day 10, when it earned ₹2 lakh, the film collected just ₹1 lakh each day from Day 8 to Day 17.
