The India Story has finally arrived in theatres with a story based on politics, law and social issues. Released on July 24, 2026, the multilingual film features Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade in lead roles. While the movie has generated attention for its subject and cast, it has started its box office journey on a modest note. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 0.18 crore on its opening day.

The India Story Box Office Collection Day 1

According to Sacnilk, The India Story earned an estimated Rs 0.18 crore (Rs 18 Lakh) net in India on its first day. The opening collection remained low despite the film releasing in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The movie now depends on positive word of mouth and weekend footfalls to improve its box office performance over the coming days.

The India Story Budget And Cast

The makers have not officially revealed the film's budget. However, trade experts estimate that The India Story was made on a budget of around Rs 20–30 crore, including production, cast salaries and promotional expenses. Industry reports suggest that Kajal Aggarwal received Rs 3 crore for the film, while Shreyas Talpade was paid Rs 2 crore. The cast also includes Murali Sharma, Manish Wadhwa, Hardik Joshi, Atul Tiwari, Kamlesh Sawant and Ashwini Bhalekar in important roles.

Strong Competition At The Box Office

Directed by Chetan DK and presented by Zee Studios, The India Story is produced under the MIG Production & Studios banner by Sagar B. Shinde. Kajal Aggarwal plays the role of a determined lawyer in the film. The movie is facing tough competition from Jana Nayagan, Dhamaal 4, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, The Odyssey, Lenin and Chennai Love Story, making its theatrical journey more challenging despite its unique subject.
