Diljit Dosanjh took the internet by storm with his debut look at the Met Gala. Paying tribute to his Punjabi culture, the singer owned the red carpet in a traditional off-white Prabal Gurung sherwani, paired with heavy jewellery, a turban and a sword. His look was inspired by the legendary Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. He left fans inspired by his journey from Punjab to the Met Gala and his commitment to staying true to his Sikh roots. Diljit also dropped a series of behind-the-scenes clips from the event.

On Thursday, Diljit Dosanjh took to his Instagram and treated fans with inside moments from his Met Gala. Along with a bunch of photos and videos, he wrote, “Behind the scenes out now on YouTube.” The first clip shows the singer being asked who he is most excited to meet and he responded with his humorous style, saying, “Don't get me wrong, but I'm excited because everyone is going to be looking at me.”

In another clip, he can be seen getting ready and having fun banter with his team. Talking about the invitation and meeting Shakira and others for dinner. He was heard saying, “Shakira’s hips don’t lie and ours ribs don’t lie."

Soon after he posted the footage, fans chimed into the comments section and appreciated him for representing culture at the global stage. One user wrote, "Very proud of you King, you are a wonderful man, you have presented Punjabi culture to the world with great beauty,You have received so much love and respect, Met Gala was a golden moment for your fans, thank you so much." Another comment read, "From Punjab to the Met Gala – you're not just representing fashion, you're representing culture. So proud of you Diljit paaji! You make us feel seen on the global stage."

Diljit not only impressed his fans but also his customised outfit led him to secure a spot in Vogue readers’ poll that featured 307 standout looks from Met Gala. He overtook stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Rihanna, Priyanka Chopra, Zendaya and others.
