As human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra's narrative in Satluj remains unavailable in India, Sikh religious groups in several states have staged community screenings. The Diljit Dosanjh-starrer, which was taken from ZEE5 within 48 hours of its release, will be screened at gurudwaras in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Jammu.
The gurudwara committees had united to host screenings of the Satluj, directed by Honey Trehan, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) insiders reportedly told Mid-Day.
"The community doesn’t want this story to disappear simply because the film is unavailable online. If people cannot watch it on OTT, gurudwaras are opening their doors. Jaswant Singh Khalra’s story deserves to be seen," the Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee told Mid-Day.
