Dude vs Bison Box Office Collection Day 4: The Diwali weekend witnessed an exciting box office clash between two major Tamil releases Dude and Bison Kaalamaadan. Director Keerthiswaran’s Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju, has taken a strong lead, while Mari Selvaraj’s Bison, led by Dhruv Vikram, is steadily closing the gap. Released on October 17, Dude opened to mixed reviews but has managed to sustain its performance with solid audience support. By Day 4, the romantic drama had crossed the Rs 40 crore mark domestically, proving that its festive release strategy paid off well despite competition.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dude collected an estimated Rs 10 crore net in India on its first Monday, taking its total to Rs 40.75 crore. The film maintained stable numbers due to the extended Diwali holiday and consistent family turnout in Tamil Nadu. Its opening weekend also saw impressive figures Rs 9.75 crore on Friday, Rs 10.4 crore on Saturday, and Rs 10.6 crore on Sunday. Interestingly, the film is performing significantly better in Tamil regions than Telugu-speaking areas. Featuring Pradeep and Mamitha as a young couple navigating love and marriage, Dude continues to attract youth audiences with its humour and relatability.
On the other hand, Mari Selvaraj’s Bison Kaalamaadan is emerging as a dark horse at the box office. The sports drama, starring Dhruv Vikram, witnessed a remarkable 25% growth on Monday compared to its opening day. With Rs 5.65 crore earned on Day 4, the film’s total domestic collection stands at Rs 16.25 crore. Despite Dude’s lead, Bison’s rising trend indicates strong word of mouth and repeat viewership, especially in single-screen theatres across Tamil Nadu. The film’s powerful themes and Dhruv’s intense performance have resonated deeply with audiences, particularly in regions like Trichy and Coimbatore, where occupancy rates remained above 70%.

While Dude dominates the box office in overall earnings, Bison is gaining momentum with each passing day. The Mari Selvaraj directorial, produced by Pa Ranjith and Aditi Anand under Neelam Studios, explores themes of caste, sport, and resilience with emotional depth. Critics have called it the director’s most violent yet impactful film. Meanwhile, Dude, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, continues to charm audiences with its light-hearted storytelling and romantic chemistry. As both films enjoy festive footfalls, the Tamil box office looks poised for a strong week ahead, driven by contrasting genres that cater to different audiences.
