Hrithik Roshan, with his complete package as a hero, ruled people’s hearts. With time, people started calling him the ‘Greek God’ of Bollywood. Interestingly, this was a special nickname given to him by his first co-star Ameesha Patel.
Ameesha Patel, during a recent interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, revealed that she was the pioneer of this nickname and said, “I was the one who started calling him ‘Greek God’. I’d tell him, ‘You’re here to stay. You’re going to kill it.’ But he’d always be like, ‘No, this isn’t right… that’s not good enough.’”

The actress also discussed her deep-rooted friendship with the star and mentioned that both of them were childhood friends. Ameesha said that after moving to the US, both of them lost touch with each other. The duo’s fathers are good friends and went to school together. Ameesha candidly recalled an incident where filmmaker Rakesh Roshan promised Ameesha’s father that whenever he will launch Hrithik Roshan, he will also launch Ameesha Patel alongside him.
She further spilled beans about Hrithik’s initial days while working on their debut movie and shared, “Hrithik was always full of self-doubt. He used to wonder if he’d ever become a star. But from day one, I told him, ‘You’re going to be huge. You are a star.’ I had no doubts about him.”
On the work front, Bollywood icons Ameesha Patel and Hrithik Roshan have seen contrasting but significant career developments. Ameesha enjoyed a major comeback with the 2023 blockbuster Gadar 2, proving her enduring appeal. On the other hand, Hrithik Roshan was last seen in War 2 alongside Jr NTR and Kiara Advani.
