The wait is over as the nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards have officially been announced. The prestigious television awards will hon our the best performances, series and creators from the past year. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Here's everything you need to know about the nominations, the host and what the Emmy Awards celebrate.

Primetime Emmy Awards Nominations: Full List Of Nominees

The nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards were officially revealed on Wednesday, July 8, marking the beginning of this year's awards season.

The first two nominations were announced during the Today show. Later, actors Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller presented the complete list of nominees live from the Wolf Theatre at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center in Los Angeles.

What Are The Emmy Awards? 

The Emmy Awards are among the biggest honours in the television industry in United States of America. They recognise outstanding TV shows, actors, actresses, writers, directors and other creative professionals. Held every year, the awards celebrate excellence across drama, comedy, reality shows and several other categories, highlighting the best work in television from around the world.

Television Academy Celebrates This Year's Nominees

Ahead of the nominations, Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego praised this year's entries in an official statement.

He said, "This year's submissions reflect the undiminished creative range and vitality of our medium, celebrating both emerging talent and beloved creative voices who are shaping the future of the industry. We are thrilled to acknowledge these artists and storytellers whose work matters so deeply to audiences around the world."

When And Where To Watch Emmy Award Ceremony 2026?

A day before the nominations were announced, it was confirmed that Mariska Hargitay will host the 2026 Emmy Awards.

The ceremony will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday, September 14, and will be broadcast live at 8 pm ET on NBC and Peacock.
