Esha Deol, daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, announced her divorce from Bharat Takhtani in 2024. Now, the actress has been navigating single parenthood and co-parenting her two daughters, embracing the new responsibilities that come with it. In an ealier interview, Esha Deol opened up about her journey as a single parent after her divorce. She candidly shared that while the transition has been challenging, her daughters remain her world and their happiness and stability are her utmost priorities.
In an interview with The Quint, Esha had said, "When kids are involved, it is important to let your ego aside and have the threshold. At the end of the day, we are parents to these beautiful kids. Let’s give them the best."
She further added, "The other person has to melt, if it’s possible. And you change the roles. And you co-parent. For your kids, you have to be a unit. That unit can’t break. Maybe the other unit has broken but for your kids, be that one unit."
Esha Deol revealed that she took a break from acting to prioritise her family, embracing motherhood and dedicating time to her children. She emphasised that as a woman, it was her choice to focus on raising her daughters. "My break was purely to start a family and I embraced motherhood twice over. Automatically as a woman, it’s my choice, I want to give my children that time," she said.
Esha Deol shared that she had always envisioned a balanced life, where her personal and professional aspirations could coexist harmoniously. For her, this meant building a family and pursuing her acting career simultaneously. She finds joy in seeing her daughters enjoy her on-screen presence, which motivates her both as an actor and a parent, creating a beautiful synergy between her two worlds.
