Television actress Mahhi Vij has finally spoken out about the ongoing rumours surrounding her marriage with husband Jay Bhanushali. The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, are parents to three children – Tara, Khushi and Rajveer. For quite some time, social media and gossip platforms have been full of speculation suggesting that the two are heading for a separation. Now, Mahhi has responded to all the talk and made her stance clear.

Mahhi Vijj, in a recent interview with Hauterrfly, shared that she doesn’t feel the need to explain her private life to the public. She questioned why people are so curious about the personal matters of others, especially when it comes to marriage and separation. “Even if it’s true, why should I tell you? Are you my uncle? Will you pay my lawyer’s fee?” she asked. Mahhi also pointed out how quick people are to jump to conclusions without knowing the full story. “Some comment saying, ‘Mahi is decent, Jay is the problem’, and others say the opposite. They just want someone to blame. Do you even know what’s going on?” the Khatron Ke Khiladi star said.

The actress went on to speak about how society treats divorce, especially when it involves public figures. “People assume a lot when they hear about a divorce. They think there’s going to be drama and that both people will start fighting publicly. There’s a lot of pressure from society. I believe everyone should just live and let live,” Mahhi added.

Meanwhile, the Nach Baliye contestant also opened up about some personal moments in her marriage. Mahhi shared that she was ready for motherhood quite early in the relationship and had even started the IVF process. But Jay wasn’t on the same page at the time and needed more time to adjust to the idea of becoming a parent.

On the work front, Mahhi is best known for her role as Nakusha in Laagi Tujhse Lagan, which made her a household name. She later appeared in Balika Vadhu and took part in popular reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and Nach Baliye. In fact, she and Jay won Nach Baliye 5 in 2013. Currently, Mahhi is taking a break from acting, though she occasionally appears on reality TV as a guest.
