Fanatically Filmi Concludes First Schedule Of Debut Feature Film Starring Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta And Others

Loosely adapted from August Strindberg’s seminal play The Father, Fanatically Filmi's debut film is positioned as an emotionally resonant family drama featuring a stellar ensemble cast: Jimmy Shergill, Divya Dutta, Zarina Wahab, Harsh Chhaya, Rajesh Jais, and introduces Taniska Tiwari in a significant debut role.

The project is helmed by Prem Prakash Modi, whose directorial credits include Panchlait (2017), based on the short story by Phanishwar Nath Renu, and Arjun - Kalimpong E Sitaharan (2013), adapted from Samaresh Majumdar’s literary work. Modi also co-produced the ZEE5 original feature Ateet (2020), starring Rajeev Khandelwal, Priyamani, and Sanjay Suri.

The screenplay and dialogues have been crafted by writer and associate director Rakesh Kumar Tripathi, whose narrative sensibility brings a layered psychological dimension to the film’s themes of trust, familial estrangement, and emotional vulnerability.

The production brings together an acclaimed creative crew including National Award winner and four-time Filmfare Award recipient Anupam Roy who serves as the music director, Gobinda Mondal who is the National Award-winning costume designer for Nagarkirtan, and winner of the WBFJA Award for The Eunuch and the Flute Player. He brings nuanced authenticity and detail to the visual styling of the film. The Director of Photography Anup Singh is known for his award-winning cinematography in Manikbabur Megh. He lends a signature visual texture that heightens the film’s emotional atmosphere.

Adding to the crew is Tapash Sarkar as Production Designer who creates immersive, layered environments that mirror the film’s emotional and psychological complexity. The film is produced by Sandeep Chawla, Founder & CEO of Fanatically Filmi, with Sonu Katyal (Chief Financial Officer) and Amritanshu (Chief Operating Officer) serving as Executive Producers.

Speaking on the completion of the first schedule, Director Prem Prakash Modi remarked, "We have purposely deviated from a simple linear format to render the story some dramatic turns and bends. Several parts of the narration move in a flashback–flash-forward format. A large part of it deals with the intricacies of complex human psychology."

The second filming schedule is set to commence shortly, with the film’s theatrical release being targeted for the post-festival season of 2026.
