Deepika Padukone's recent exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD have sparked intense debate, with her demand for an 8-hour work shift being a major point of contention. Farah Khan recently took a lighthearted jab at Deepika's limited work hours in her vlog, joking that Deepika doesn't have time to appear on her show since she only shoots for 8 hours. This comes after Deepika reportedly demanded an 8-hour shift, increased fees and profit sharing, which didn't sit well with producers.

During Farah Khan's visit to Rohit Saraf's home for her cooking vlog, Rohit revealed that his mother was making her on-camera debut, and only for Farah's show, after a year-long wait. Farah warmly hugged Rohit's mother and jokingly compared the wait to her experience working with Deepika Padukone, saying, "Haan itna time toh Deepika Padukone ne nahi lagaya mujhe haan bolne mein," implying Deepika took less time to agree to work with her.

Farah's cook Dilip asked, "Deepika Padukone ma’am kab aayengi humare show main (when will Deepika ma’am come to our show)?" To this, Farah joked, "jiss din tu gaon jaayega naa uss din aayegi (the day you go to your village)." She then took a dig at the actress, remarking, "Deepika Padukone ab sirf 8 ghanta shoot karti hai, usko show pe aane ka time nahi hai (She now shoots only for 8 hours, she doesn’t have time to come to our show)."

Earlier, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Movies, announced on X that Deepika Padukone would not be a part of Part 2. The statement read, "Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works."
