Deepika Padukone has recently lost two major projects which includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2. Both movies starred Prabhas in the lead, and this coincidence has sparked debate among fans. Many are now questioning whether Prabhas had any role to play in her exit from these big-budget films. While several reports have emerged, one fact stands out both projects were headlined by Prabhas opposite Deepika. This has led a section of fans to believe that Prabhas’ involvement, or lack of it, may have indirectly influenced the actress’ removal. 

Meanwhile, some argue that if Prabhas had intervened, Deepika would have continued in the films. Others feel that by staying silent, he indirectly supported the filmmakers’ decision.However, reports also clarify that Prabhas usually stays away from casting matters and does not interfere in such decisions. According to report in Great Andhra, the actor chose not to involve himself in the discussions between Deepika and the makers, leaving the final call entirely to the production teams.

Deepika Padukone Out Of Kalki 2

On the other hand, confirming the development, Vyjayanthi Movies, the producers of Kalki 2898 AD, released an official note on social media and stated, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future projects.” This statement ended the ongoing speculation and confirmed that Piku actress will not reprise her role in the sequel.

Deepika Padukone Also Removed From Spirit

Earlier this year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had also removed the Padmaavat actress from Spirit. Reports suggested that the actress had demanded an eight-hour workday, a high salary, and even a share in the film’s profits. As a new mother, Deepika Padukone was reportedly looking to balance her personal life with professional commitments by limiting her working hours. However, these conditions did not go down well with Vanga. The director later took to social media and openly criticised Deepika. Without naming her directly, he accused the actress of playing “dirty PR games” and questioned her professional approach. “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. But by doing this, you’ve revealed the person you truly are. Putting down a younger actor and rejecting my story – is this what your feminism stands for? Filmmaking is my life’s work, and you did not understand it,” he wrote. Vanga’s sharp words made it clear that their collaboration had soured beyond repair.

While Deepika Padukone has lost two high-profile projects opposite Prabhas, reports suggest she may soon focus on international opportunities. Buzz is strong that she could sign her second Hollywood film, following her debut in XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
