Happy Independence Day: India is celebrating its 79th Independence Day on Friday, with the nation painted in the vibrant colours of the tricolour. On this special occasion, several Bollywood celebrities took to their social media platforms to share warm wishes, honour the country’s spirit, and pay tribute to its rich history and those who protect it. Among the stars joining in the celebrations were Mrunal Thakur, Vikrant Massey, Anupam Kher, Sonu Sood, Rajkummar Rao, Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, and many others.
Sonu Sood posted a series of throwback photographs from his Fateh days when he visited the Attari–Wagah Border. In the pictures, the actor was holding the national flag and posing alongside soldiers. Keeping his caption simple yet powerful, Sonu wrote, “Happy Independence Day."

Vikrant Massey, who recently received the Best Actor National Award for his performance in 12th Fail, also marked the occasion by posting a picture of the Indian national flag on Instagram. He wrote in Hindi, “मेरा भारत, मेरी जान, मेरी शान. स्वतंत्रता दिवस की आप सभी को ढेर सारी शुभकामनाएँ।" Furthermore, Rajkummar Rao shared his gratitude for the nation’s protectors, writing, “Happy Independence Day everyone. Heartfelt gratitude to our Indian Armed Forces for their unwavering courage, dedication, and selfless sacrifices in protecting us and our nation. Jai Hind."

Veteran actor Anupam Kher posted his own Independence Day wishes, expressing hope for the country’s continued growth and development. Additionally, Mrunal Thakur shared a touching message on her Instagram stories. Her note read, “We carry the stories, remember the struggles, and honour the space to write our own." The sentiment reflected the pride and gratitude felt across the country.
