IFFA 2025 Winners: The first edition of the Indie Film Festival Awards (IFFA) was held in New York City, marking a significant step in recognizing the talent and work of Indian cinema. This much-anticipated event is known for bringing independent filmmakers from around the world together, providing a platform to showcase their work through various avenues, including online awards, live screenings and an annual in-person awards ceremony. The winners for Hindi films of 2024 were announced at this edition. Katrina Kaif bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in Merry Christmas, while the Best Actor title went to Kartik Aaryan for his role in Chandu Champion. Indie Film Festival 2025 Winners List
The announcement of the IFFA 2025 winners was shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his X handle. Katrina Kaif, who was last seen in Merry Christmas, released in 2024, shared the screen with Vijay Sethupathi in Sriram Raghavan's directorial. She surely left a mark, which earned her the Best Actress title.
Kartik Aaryan's film Chandu Champion not only won one award but secured two recognitions. The biographical sports drama, directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, received widespread praise upon its release and is still making an impact. It won the Best Film award at IFFA 2025.

The winner list also included Anjini Dhawan and Pankaj Kapur's Binny and Family, which took home the award for Best Family Film, while the Best Director honour was given to Siddharth Anand for Fighter.

The award for Best OTT Special went to filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
The recognitions in the debut categories went to Anjini Dhawan as Best Debutant Female for her performance in Binny and Family and Abhay Verma was awarded Best Debutant Male for Munjya.
Pratibha Ranta was honoured as the Rising Star for her performance in Laapataa Ladies.
This year's edition recognizes the performances and work of 2024. The second edition of this film festival will honour the movies of 2025 and will take place next year.
