Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s marriage, which began in 1991, came to an end after 13 years. The couple, who met on the sets of Bekhudi, have two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Following their divorce, Saif was required to pay a substantial amount in alimony to Amrita, totalling Rs 5 crore, of which he had already paid approximately Rs 2.5 crore at the time. He also agreed to provide a monthly allowance of Rs 1 lakh until their son, Ibrahim, turned 18.

In a throwback interview shortly after their divorce, the Dil Chahta Hai star said that, unlike Shah Rukh Khan, he had no money.

Saif Ali Khan, in a 2005 interview with The Telegraph, stated, "I’m not Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t have that kind of money." He further elaborated on his financial obligations, saying, "I’ve promised her I’ll pay up the rest of the money, and I will, even if I’ve to slog till I drop dead. Whatever I’ve earned from doing ads, stage shows and films is being given for my children. I’ve no money." This statement highlights the significant financial burden Saif faced after his separation.

However, Saif Ali Khan has now moved on. The Jewel Thief actor married Kareena Kapoor in 2012, and the couple has built a life together. Amrita Singh, on the other hand, chose not to remarry and has maintained a close bond with her children. Sara and Ibrahim often feature their mother in their social media posts, reflecting a strong family connection.

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan’s recent Netflix release Jewel Thief – The Red received significantly positive reviews from viewers. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2010 and has earned multiple accolades, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards, recognising his versatility across genres. Saif’s highest-grossing film is Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), which earned over ₹279 crore in India. Other notable hits in his career include Race 2, Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal, and Kal Ho Naa Ho.
