Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Tamil movie Jailer 2 is currently in production, with the actor confirming that the shoot is expected to wrap up by the end of this year. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa Menon, who are reprising their roles from the first movie Jailer. Additionally, S. J. Suryah has joined the cast, and Shiva Rajkumar will make a guest appearance in Jailer 2. Nandamuri Balakrishna, a seasoned star, has also been roped in for a key role in the highly anticipated sequel.
Jailer 2 is a sequel to the 2023 action-comedy Jailer, with Rajinikanth reprising his role as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. According to reports, Rajinikanth said, "I am not sure when exactly we will complete shooting for Jailer 2. But the shoot will mostly be done by December." He also added that the post-production work for Coolie is going on well. On the other hand, according to a report in Hindustan Times, Nandamuri Balakrishna loved what Nelson Dilipkumar pitched to him and is looking forward to shooting for the film soon. The report further stated that Balakrishna plays more of a guest role in the film than a cameo, as he wanted something solid—and Nelson delivered.

There are also speculations about Mohanlal reprising his role as Mathew in Jailer 2. Director Nelson Dilipkumar was reportedly spotted meeting Mohanlal on the sets of his upcoming film Hridayapoorvam in Kerala, sparking rumours about the actor's involvement in the project. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, the meeting has generated significant interest among fans.
On the work front, Rajinikanth’s upcoming Tamil movie Coolie is all set to hit theatres in August. In his 51-year cinematic career, he has delivered several major blockbusters, including Lal Salaam, Darbaar, Kabali, Ra.One, Enthiran, and Lingaa, among many others. Meanwhile, the anticipation surrounding Jailer 2 continues to grow, with fans eagerly awaiting the film's release. With its star-studded cast and talented director, the Tamil movie is expected to be a blockbuster hit.
