Mohanlal celebrated his 65th birthday on May 21. To mark the occasion, fans and industry friends showered him with love and warm wishes on social media. Even the makers of his upcoming movie Kannappa made the day special for his fans by sharing a glimpse of the mythological drama. Mohanlal will be seen in a cameo role as Kirata in the epic saga. The movie is based on the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva. Kannappa also stars Vishnu Manchu, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Prabhas.

To celebrate Mohanlal's birthday, Vishnu Manchu shared a short clip giving a sneak peek of the Malayalam superstar's role. The glimpse was much delight to the fans. The clip shows, the intense and war shots of the actor's character.

Mohanlal’s character, Kirata, plays a crucial role in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of the legend of Bhakta Kannappa. The story follows a fearless warrior and an atheist hunter, who undergoes a transformation to become a devotee of Lord Shiva. The film is being helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa features Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, with Akshay Kumar playing Lord Shiva, while Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. Besides Mohanlal, Prabhas will also make an appearance as Rudra. After several delay in the release, movie is now slated to hit theatres on 27 June 2025.

Fueling more excitement about his upcoming movies, Mohanlal also shared the first look from his much-awaited movie Vrusshabha, which also stars Shanaya Kapoor. He also announced the release date of the movie.

Talking to Instagram, the actor shared an intriguing video of her character along with a message, that read, "This one is special — dedicating it to all my fans. The wait ends. The storm awakens. With pride and power, I unveil the first look of VRUSSHABHA—a tale that will ignite your soul and echo through time. Unveiling this on my birthday makes it all the more meaningful - your love has always been my greatest strength. #Vrusshabha in cinemas on 16th October, 2025."

The clip gives glimpse of Mohanlal's intense warrior avatar while holding a sword. He is seen wearing a golden armour as a mythical warrior king with long hair, beard and white tilak with his intense gaze. Soon after his first look unveiling, fans shared their excitement and can't wait to see him on screens in his new avatar.

About Vrusshabha Movie: Directed by Nanda, the movie is being produced by Ekta under Balaji Telefilms, along with Connekkt Media and AVS Studios. Besides Mohanlal, the film stars Shanaya Kapoor, Roshan Meka, Zahrah S Khan, Garuda Ram, Simran, and Srikanth.
