The Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received a UA 13+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), allowing the movie to be released in Indian theatres on July 30. Nevertheless, three censorship-mandated changes will be included in the superhero movie.
The CBFC claimed that the board ordered the makers to mute and remove harsh and offensive language from the English audio and subtitle track, as well as to remove a romantic kissing sequence.
Additionally, the Spider-Man creators were instructed to include a static anti-alcohol health warning in moments when alcohol usage was shown.

With no significant adjustments to its plot or action scenes, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been approved for cinema release on July 30, 2026.
The censor board's decision to cut kissing scenes from Spider-Man was met with strong reactions on social media. A user (@Kamal_Tweetz) wrote, "Most populous country on Earth deletes kissing scene from kid-friendly Spider-Man movie."
Another user (@KashifCriticz) said, "They removed an 8-second kissing scene from SPIDER-MAN: Brand New Day, even though the film passed with a UA (13+) certificate. Is the CBFC making a joke of us?"
Slamming the decision of CBFC, one of the many user (@StrayViperxk2h) said, "Anything but prevent over-sexualisation of actress, item songs, double meaning dialogues, unwanted close-ups on actress. What a progressive mindset."
