Zubeen Garg's cousin Sandipan was arrested by CID's special investigation team (SIT), a few weeks after his death in Singapore. The close aid of the singer was an Assam Police Service (APS) officer assigned at Kamrup district. Now days after Zubeen Garg's untimely death, his wife Garima disclosed why the singer was traveling with Sandipan to Singapore. She also opened up about his arrest and stated that the investigation should continue.
Zubeen Garg's wife disclosed that Sandipan wanted to accompany the Assamese artist without specifically mentioning Singapore. "When Sandipan wished to go with Zubeen...he never went abroad. So this time he said he wanted to go with Zubeen, and he was happy to take him along."

Garima Garg refused to go into detail, but she acknowledged that Sandipan had been called and then taken into custody. She said, "May be they have got some clue in his statements. The investigation process is on and it is taking its own course, I can't comment anything on it." For those who are unaware, the Assam government immediately suspended Sandipan from his position after his arrest. Sandipan Garg, the fifth person detained in relation to Zubeen Garg's killing, has been placed under seven days of police custody.

"All the family members and the rest of Assam and all the lovers of Zubeen are waiting for the result. However, the process will go on. We have that belief. We have faith in our Indian law and the judiciary system. I think they will take the right path and they will very soon they will be able to give us some results about it," she concluded.
All About Zubeen Garg's Death
On September 19, the 52-year-old singer, who was well-known for his Bollywood and Assamese songs, passed away in Singapore while swimming close to an island.
His bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, manager Siddharth Sharma, event planner Shyamkanu Mahanta, and musician Amritprava Mahanta were among the four people detained by the police prior to Sandipan Garg. Shekhar Jyoti Goswami had claimed that Zubeen Garg was poisoned by the singer's manager and the person who planned the event in which he was scheduled to play in Singapore. Additionally, he claimed that the accused deliberately picked a foreign location to hide the crime.
