Zubeen Garg was honoured in a special segment on reality TV show, Indian Idol 16. Assamese contestant Satyendra Yein and singer Shreya Ghoshal sang his well-known song Mayabini. The homage swiftly accumulated millions of views on social media, underscoring the music of Zubeen Garg's broad appeal. In the teaser, Vishal Dadlani told Yein that Zubeen Garg is the 'greatest of all time.' Sony Entertainment Television posted a video on Instagram with Vishal Dadlani and Shreya Ghoshal's heartfelt tribute to the late singer.
Zubeen Garg's well-known Assamese song, Mayabini, was performed by Shreya Ghoshal and the contestant. She also hummed his popular song Jaane Kya with Vishal Dadlani from the 2006 movie Pyaar Ke Side Effects. He then said, "He (Zubeen Garg) is one of the biggest stars jo India mein kabhi paeda huye. As an Assamese, Zubeen ko kho dena isn't a small thing."

Mayabini became an anthem of sadness throughout Assam and beyond following the passing of Zubeen Garg. The song has been played on social media, in public spaces, and at homes as fans come together to grieve. The song is a mark of respect for the late performer and community mourning from Guwahati to different cities around India.

About Zubeen Garg's Death Case
Zubeen Garg passed away in a scuba diving accident in Singapore on September 19, a day before he was scheduled to play at the Northeast India Festival. He was first transported by air to Delhi, his lifeless remains were then carried by air to Guwahati on September 21.
Zubeen Garg's cousin Sandipan Garg, manager Siddhartha Sharma, musician Shekharjyoti Goswami, vocalist Amritprava Mahanta, and North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta were among the five people who have been arrested.
