IPL 2025 Finals is taking place today at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB and PBKS are competing for the trophy. On the closing ceremony, singer and music composer Shankar Mahadevan paid his heartfelt tribute to the Indian Army's strike on terrorism- Operation Sindoor. Shankar was joined by his sons Siddharth and Shivam Mahadevan. He sung songs, including Lakshya, Ae Watan Mere Watan, Kandhon Se Milte Kadam, Ye Desh Hai Vee Jawano Ka, Lehra Do, Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani and Maa Tujhe Salaam.

Ahead of his performance at IPL closing ceremony, the singer took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "Honored to perform for the armed forces tonight at the @iplt20 finals in Ahemadabad!! along with @siddharth.mahadevan @shivammahadevan , @prakriti_giri and @shrinidhighatate !! We will offer our gratitude and Salutations through music to the armed forces. My fellow Indians .. join us in sending them some love and respect !! Jai Hind .. and of course May the best team win!"

Operation Sindoor was a military operation launched by India on May 7. The mission was aimed at eliminating terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. However, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir. They even launched drone attacks along border regions.

India retaliated by launching a a coordinated attack that damaged radar systems, communication centers and airfields across 11 Pakistani airbases. Due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the IPL matches were put on hold for a week. The matches resumed on May 17, with the finals taking place today.
