Abhishek Bachchan is currently making headlines due to the success of his recently released movie Housefull 5 at the box office. The Dhoom actor has also recently unveiled the teaser of his highly anticipated movie Kaalidhar Laapata, which is slated to premiere on OTT platform Zee5 on July 4. With all these movies in the kitty, the actor has reportedly signed on for one of the leading roles in a new movie. This movie will be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s assistant Shanmukha Gowtham Ghantasala, who is best known for associate directing work on Vanga’s films like Animal, Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. 

Shanmukha Gowtham, according to a report in Pinkvilla, is set to make his directorial debut with Abhishek Bachchan in a lead role. “Abhishek Bachchan is teaming up with Shanmukha Gowtham on an action-packed thriller. The actor will be seen playing the role of a butcher in the film and is excited to embark on a film that breaks the norm of usual filmmaking in the commercial format,” the report stated.

Featuring Housefull 5 actor, the movie is reportedly being produced by Peoples Media Factory, who recently ventured into the Hindi Film Industry with Jaat. “The makers are gearing up to take the film on floors towards the end of 2025, and the casting for other key characters is currently underway,” the report added.

Furthermore, Abhishek’s character look in the upcoming movie is reportedly similar to the post-credit scene of Vanga’s Animal movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor as Aziz in the character of a butcher.

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan is currently shooting for the action movie King, helmed by Siddharth Anand. The movie features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role and will mark the theatrical debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. The movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Anil Kapoor, in supporting roles.
