Jee Le Zaraa Movie Update: In August 2021, Farhan Akhtar first announced Jee Le Zaraa, a female-led road-trip film starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif. Ever since the announcement, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates. But over the years, the film kept facing delays, with many reports suggesting that the project had been pushed indefinitely due to date clashes. Some even claimed it had been shelved altogether. Now, after months of speculation, there is finally good news. Farhan Akhtar himself has confirmed that Jee Le Zaraa is very much alive, and that the team is preparing to begin work soon.
Why Jee Le Zaraa Movie Was Delayed?
Speaking about the delays, Farhan Akhtar admitted that managing dates for the three leading actresses and finding the right actors for the supporting roles caused unexpected obstacles. Fortunately, he added, things have finally fallen into place. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, coordinating dates for Alia, Priyanka, and Katrina was one of the biggest challenges. Priyanka Chopra’s international commitments were particularly difficult to work around. However, she has now reportedly agreed to make time for the film, allowing the project to progress. The report also mentions that Farhan, along with writers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, struggled to cast the male leads. They wanted actors who matched the star power of the three leading ladies, and finding the right trio took longer than expected.

Adding to the delays were changes in the personal lives of the actors. Katrina Kaif welcomed a baby boy in November this year, while Alia Bhatt’s daughter was born in 2022. Priyanka Chopra also became a mother in 2022. With these life changes now settled, the team is ready to move ahead. Farhan Akhtar confirmed the update, saying, “To be honest, it was traumatic trying to get the actors’ dates. But we’ve sorted all that out. We’ll start soon.” Jee Le Zaraa is expected to follow the spirit of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, offering a similar journey-based narrative but with a female perspective.

Meanwhile, back in 2021, Priyanka Chopra opened up about how the film came to life. She shared that she had been looking for a unique Hindi project, and the idea of a female-centred road-trip film felt fresh and exciting. She recalled calling Alia and Katrina impulsively to discuss the concept and said the three instantly connected over the idea of celebrating friendship on screen. Priyanka also shared how the teams at Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Films came together naturally, as everyone involved had worked with them before. “It took three years to align our schedules, but we stuck together,” she wrote, celebrating the spirit of sisterhood and collaboration.
