Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming directorial Spirit, starring Prabhas, is one of the most anticipated movies. The film has created a buzz, especially regarding its casting, following Deepika Padukone's exit and the addition of Triptii Dimri as the female lead. Amid this, rumours have been circulating online claiming that Megastar Chiranjeevi would be part of Prabhas starrer and would play his father in Spirit. Addressing Chiranjeevi's casting buzz, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has now set the record straight. Read on to find out what he said.

Is Chiranjeevi Joining Prabhas In Spirit?

In a recent interaction with the Jigris team, Sandeep Reddy Vanga clarified the rumour about Spirit's casting and said, as quoted by 123 Telugu, Chiranjeevi is not playing Prabhas’ father or any role in the movie. His statement has put an end to all the speculation surrounding the film lately.

Reports also suggest that Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, known as Don Lee, is set to make his Indian film debut as the antagonist in Vanga's directorial.

When asked about the South Korean actor's role in Spirit, the filmmaker neither confirmed nor denied the involvement of the International action star.

Last month, on Prabhas’s birthday, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga released a special sound story, offering a glimpse into the world of Spirit through Prabhas’ intense voiceover.

The teaser features a conversation between a jailer and an ex-cop (Prabhas), who has been sent for a remand. In the end, Prabhas was heard saying, “Sir, since childhood, I have one bad habit." He then repeated his statement, “Right from childhood, I have one bad habit." With only his voice and no visuals, Prabhas has already sparked excitement among fans. The film is expected to hit theatres in 2026.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Chiranjeevi will be next seen in Anil Ravipudi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The film is slated for theatrical release in 2026.
