Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is currently promoting his upcoming series Pritam Pedro, but fans are equally eager to know about the future of his blockbuster films. During a recent interview, the director opened up about the possibility of sequels to PK and Munna Bhai. He also addressed speculation about Ranbir Kapoor's role in a potential PK sequel, giving fans a hopeful update.

Rajkumar Hirani Opens Up About PK Sequel

Rajkumar Hirani recently spoke about the future of his hit film PK while interacting with India Today. Ever since Ranbir Kapoor appeared in the film's post-credit scene, fans have been curious to know whether he will lead the sequel.

When asked if Ranbir Kapoor could be a part of PK 2, Hirani admitted that the idea has been on his mind for quite some time.

Smiling, the filmmaker said, "I keep thinking about going back to that world. I keep thinking about it. I'm thinking about this as well. It will have a sequel, and we'll have to make it."

His statement has raised hopes among fans who have been waiting for an official update on the much-loved film.

Ranbir Kapoor's Appearance Sparked Fan Theories

Ranbir Kapoor made a brief appearance in the post-credit scene of PK, which led many viewers to believe that he could headline the sequel. Although Hirani did not officially confirm the cast, his latest comments suggest that the project is being seriously considered. However, the filmmaker stopped short of revealing any timeline or production details.

Munna Bhai 3 Is Also in the Works

Apart from PK, Hirani also shared an update on Munna Bhai 3. He revealed that work on the sequel has been going on for several years, but he does not want to rush the project.

The director explained that he will move forward only when he is completely satisfied with the screenplay. He said, "We keep picking it up from time to time and spend some time on it. It feels like we're slowly getting closer. I definitely want to make the sequel, but not a bad one. I'll make it only when we feel the script is outstanding."

For now, fans will have to wait until the filmmaker is fully convinced that both sequels are ready to meet audience expectations.
