Fans have begun sharing AI-generated images of Ranveer Singh reimagined as the deity, sparking an intense debate over who is better suited for the iconic role.

While Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal in the teaser has received a mixed but generally positive response for its scale and visual grandeur, the AI images of Ranveer Singh have caught many by surprise. These realistic visuals have led many social media users to question if the Dhurandhar 2 star might have been a more fitting choice.

Supporters of Ranveer Singh have been vocal about his versatility and physical presence. One user commented, "Wow! Mere Ram! @RanveerOfficial would have nailed the Lord Rama character." Another fan noted, "Not gonna lie - he fits the face cut and, knowing his acting range, would have been a better fit." A comment read, "A better choice imo. A younger, youthful appearance." Some fans suggested he would be equally formidable as the antagonist, with one remarking, "He would've done it well. And yes, he would've pulled it off. It would've been a sincere portrayal. But I think he would've been great as Ravana."

Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana Movie Budget

Regardless of the casting debates, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema history. Producer Namit Malhotra recently revealed the astronomical scale of the production, stating, "When we set out to make this six or seven years ago, people thought I was a lunatic because no Indian film comes close to this scale. Put simply, the budget will be around $500 million for both parts combined, which is over Rs 4,000 crore."

The film features a stellar ensemble, including Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with music composed by the legendary duo of AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The first instalment is set to hit cinemas in October 2026, followed by the second part in 2027.
