Raveena Tandon, who made her web series debut with the 2021 Netflix hit Aranyak, has officially confirmed that the much-anticipated second season of the show is not in the works. The thriller became an instant success, leaving fans eagerly waiting for a sequel. However, the actress has now revealed that the plans for season two have been shelved. In a recent interview, she explained the reason behind the show's uncertain future and why it may never return to screens.

The Aranyak actress speaking to Hindustan Times shared that there has been no progress on Netflix’s web series Aranyak Season 2. “It’s not happening,” she said. “Now I can say it. Earlier, we all had hope. In fact, I think season two was written as well, but I am not sure what the platform has in mind. Every time they say, ‘Oh my God, it was a great show and one of our highest-viewed shows immediately after COVID.’ That was a role so close to my heart, and I loved playing that character. But I don’t think they were able to crack a good script for season two. And then the expectations were so high, so they didn’t want to spoil that.”

Aranyak Web Series Details

Aranyak, which premiered on Netflix on December 10, 2021, marked a new phase in Raveena’s career as she stepped into the digital space. Her role as Kasturi Dogra, a dedicated and fierce police officer from a quiet hill town in Himachal Pradesh, was praised for its depth and strength. The show remained in Netflix’s top 10 for several weeks and was considered one of the platform’s most popular Indian originals at the time.

Directed by Vinay Waikul and written by Charudutt Acharya, Aranyak was inspired by the Bengali novel of the same name by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. The story followed two mismatched police officers as they investigated a mysterious murder, uncovering a web of local myths, politics, and secrets. The cast also included Parambrata Chatterjee and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
